Make Italian Meat Sauce With Incredible Flavor in Less Than 45 Minutes

Posted by

Are you tired of the overly seasoned jarred tomato meat sauce you find in supermarkets? Is the chopped meat you’re adding when attempting to cook your own meat sauce just not tasty enough?

Are you looking for a more authentic way to make sauce that you can enjoy over spaghetti, penne or any other pasta?

Well look no further because this meat sauce recipe I’m about to give you not only gives your tastebuds an amazing experience, but is extremely quick and easy to make. To start, you’ll need to following ingredients.

Approximate Cook Time: 40 Min

1/2 cup of olive oil

4 cloves of fresh garlic

1/2 yellow onion

2 cans of Cento San Marzano whole, peeled tomatoes (you can use any tomato you like)

1 tsp of salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp red pepper flakes

5 Fresh Basil leaves

1 package of Premio Italian Sausage mixed hot/sweet

1 lb of your favorite pasta

Step 1

Mince your fresh garlic cloves and toss them in a pot with the olive oil and the onion. Let them simmer until the aroma of garlic fills the room.

Step 2

Blend your tomatoes and pour them into the pot once they’re pureed.

Step 3

Fry the package of sausage in a frying pan with your oil of preference until the outside is brown.

Step 4

Put the sausage in your sauce pot

Step 5

Add the salt, black pepper, basil and red pepper and stir.

Step 6

Stir your sauce periodically until you see the olive oil floating at the top of the tomato. (It will give the sauce a brown tint) This should take about 30-40 min.

Step 7

Boil water in a large pot and add pasta for 8-10 minutes to achieve al dente texture.

Step 8

Drain the water from the pot and add your sauce with a ladle. Stir it up and your dinner if finished!

You can fork out the sausage and enjoy it on the side. I like to add pecorino romano grated cheese to the pasta with a spoon of ricotta on the side.

This is a fairly easy way to prepare a meat sauce with a lot of flavor with little to no mess. Meat sauce is normally made with chopped meat of all varieties including veal, beef and pork.

However, chopped meat is not seasoned like sausage and all of the flavors used to enhance the sausage end up adding to your sauce. When making the sauce with chopped meat, it’s really on you to build the right flavor combination.

This can be irritating and takes several tries to perfect. Using sausage is a lesser known shortcut to an amazing sauce. This is basically an abbreviated version of the well-known Sunday Sauce being served by grandmas in Italian-American homes everywhere. Sunday sauce features a few more meat additions and will require more tomatoes.

But if you’re looking for a fairly quick meal to feed you and your significant other, this sausage sauce is the way to go.
